Q: How do I change my access number?
 
A:

Windows 95/98

  1. Double click on My Computer.

  2. Double click on Dial-Up Networking.

  3. Right click on your Internet connection and left click on Properties.

  4. Change the telephone number (and area code if necessary) to the new number.

  5. Click OK to save the setting changes.

 

Windows Me

  1. Click Start, Settings, and select Dial-Up Networking.

  2. Right click on your Internet connection and click the Properties button.

  3. Change the telephone number (and area code if necessary) to the new number.

  4. Click OK to save the setting changes.

 

Windows 2000

  1. Click Start, Settings and select Network and Dial-up Connections.

  2. Right click on your Internet connection and click the Properties button.

  3. Change the telephone number (and area code if necessary) to the new number.

  4. Click OK to save the setting changes.

 

Windows NT

  1. Double click on My Computer.

  2. Double click on Dial-Up Networking.

  3. Click More and select Edit phonebook and modem properties.

  4. Change the telephone number to the new number.

  5. Click OK to save the setting changes.

 

Windows XP

  1. Click Start and select Control Panel.

  2. If you have a list of Categories, click the link to the left that states Switch to Classic view. Double click on Network Connections.

  3. Double click on your Internet connection. Change the telephone number to the new number.

  4. Click Dial. You will be asked if you want to make the number change permanent, click Yes.
